Susquehanna Valley Learning Community Begins If you are responsible in any way for workplace learning and employee development in your organization, make plans to attend the first meeting of the Susquehanna Valley Learning Community. A meeting will be held on Thursday, September 15, from 8-9 a.m., at Evangelical Community Hospital in Lewisburg. The meeting is sponsored by the Central Pa Chapter of the American Society for Training and Development (ASTD). The Susquehanna Valley Learning Community group welcomes anyone who has a professional interest in training and development, even if they are not ASTD members. The first meeting will be held in the Human Resources Conference Room at Evangelical Community Hospital. The room is located in Suite 300 on the third floor of the Professional Office Building. According to David Burns, 2011 President of the Central PA Chapter, “The purpose of the group is to connect on a regular basis with regional colleagues who have similar professional roles and interests. We will discuss the latest trends in training and development, and share ideas and challenges to help each other grow in our profession.” There is no membership requirement to participate and attendance is free. Walk-ins are welcome. Registration is requested by emailing David Burns at dburns@ptd.net. If you can’t make this meeting but would like to be kept in the loop, just send David an email requesting to be added to the Susquehanna Valley Learning Community mailing list. The Central Pennsylvania Chapter of ASTD supports the professional growth of human resource and workplace training professionals in the Central Pennsylvania Area by providing high caliber programs and services to our members. More information about the Central PA Chapter of the ASTD is available at http://www.centralpaastd.org.
